Class Description

Toddler

9:00am-11:30am

Monday / Wednesday / Friday

or

Tuesday / Thursday
M - F (limited spots)

The goal of the toddler program is to promote a healthy parent / child separation while providing an introduction to the school environment and daily routines.

We encourage and model the transition from parallel play to interactive peer play. Language and vocabulary are increased through immersion in a language rich environment.

The toddler program helps to emphasize social emotional learning.

We nurture curiosity through exploration and hands on activities:

  • Art
  • Story-time
  • Music and movement
  • Outdoor play
  • Fine motor and gross motor activities

We offer a dedicated two-year-old classroom with a low student to teacher ratio.  Students do not need to be potty-trained for the toddler class.

Nursery

9:00am-1:30pm

Monday / Tuesday / Thursday

Our Nursery program welcomes children who will be three years old by October 1.

For our nursery program we utilize features of the following curriculums:

  • Handwriting Without Tears (providing fine motor strengthening and dexterity necessary for pre-writing foundation)
  • Fundations (multi-sensory phonics program with a focus on learning the letters in the student's name)

We also provide an introduction to math and literacy concepts. In the nursery class we are working towards gaining independence in self-help daily skills, including:

  • Unpacking backpack
  • Zipping coat
  • Getting prepared for lunch and snack

We cultivate creative and imaginative play learning centers designed around various thematic units. Shared reading allows us to spark students' love of books, reading and learning. In the nursery class, we support Child-led inquiry. We also make music & movement as part of daily routine to improve and foster language and gross motor development.

Students must be potty-trained for this class.
